In mid-December 2005 I shared my burden to start a new ministry I was then calling The New Seed of Sudan, since changed to New Seed of Hope, with my new friend Alphonse Kabui, whom I had only met in November in the village of Lietnhom in south Sudan.
We became very good friends in November. It almost seemed like I had known him all my life. Since I was unsure of God’s leading me to start this ministry I decided to ask Alphonse what he thought about the idea. His reply is below, word-for-word.
“Let me start my reply by giving you a short testimony so that I confirm to you that this thing is of the Lord.
In May 2004, the employees of my organization were having a retreat away from the office. I was praying one night and fell asleep in the process of praying. This is what I saw:
I saw myself walking along some grass that covered me to the waist. All of a sudden, I saw myself standing on the edge of a very silent, slow moving, and dangerous looking river that was moving so slowly that one could hardly tell the direction to which it was flowing. As I stood at the edge of this huge river, I was joined by a man but I could not tell his name or his ethnicity. I asked him to give me a solution on how to cross the river but he smiled (just like you do) and said: “The Lord will show us. ” No sooner had he finished that statement than both of us found ourselves on the other side of the river and when both of us looked back, we saw a vast land with very green grass and we looked at each other with this man and declared, There is much work to do. We need to teach those that were on the other side to cross over.
I wrote this vision down and shared it with three people and one of them is Rose my wife. When I went to Lietnhom, I saw the river Jur, and immediately confirmed that this was the river that I had seen in May 2004. When I met you (in Nov 2005), I looked at you and saw the man that I had seen and with whom I crossed the river with. I did not want to mention this to you because we had just met.

This is very very strange but God is fulfilling his purpose in our very eyes.
